Bio:
I entered the technology arena about seven years ago and have been involved in a wide range of activities such as Web Development, Internet Marketing and Project Management. Shifting trends in the last few years caused me to take up a deep interest in social media. Over the past couple of years I have launched a few social networks of my own primarily to learn how to optmize them for quality user engagement and retention. Experience teaches you a lot about the difficulties involved with marketing a new social network or using an existing social platform to market a new business.

I launched this site to lend my experience to readers as well as inform them of industry news and trends.

What’s With the Funky Website Name? What’s “Digital Persuasion”?

Those of you involved in Internet Marketing surely have heard the term “Conversion Funnel”. For those that haven’t here is Wikipedia’s definition:

“Conversion funnel is a term describing the track a consumer takes while visiting a website. Internet marketing tools such as Google Analytics and WebTrends have made it possible to track visitors on websites, and forest marketeers can view the exact path (and timing) each consumer took while on the marketeer’s website. Web marketeers can increase the effectiveness of their website by monitoring this funnel, enabling them to improve the efficiency of their web marketing campaign.”

Being an Internet Marketer and spending upwards of 70 hours a week on the web causes me to have a different perspective than the average consumer. I am constantly analyzing how companies get prospective customers to make a purchase, both online and off. Everywhere we go, we are surrounded by persuading messages, deals and “Free Offers”. Personally, I feel like I am stuck in a never ending conversion funnel.
